About Us

  • Harold G. Fearn (1913-2012) was superintendent of the West Aurora Schools for eighteen years (1954-1972).
     
  • Under his guidance, eight new schools were built in the district and two schools were brought into the district when Montgomery and North Aurora joined West Aurora.
     
  • The new schools built were Goodwin Elementary School, Hall Elementary School, Jefferson Junior High, McCleery Elementary School, Schneider Elementary School, Smith Elementary School, Hope Wall School and Washington Junior High.
     
  • Fearn also directed several major expansions at West Aurora High School.
